Welcome to the K-Meleon place!
What's inside?
Technically, K-Meleon is the Gecko-based browser using the earlier Mozilla option to embed the engine into different apps and GUIs.
K-Meleon is wrapped into native Windows shell, Windows API.
Speaking in general terms this means that it uses native windows libraries to display its own GUI instead of using XUL (XML User Interface Language) like FireFox. This leads to significantly reduced RAM consumption and therefore in noticeable speeding up of browser interacting with PC user.
That is the main reason of legendary KM's lightness and speed.
The Macro Power
K-Meleon Macros are the real power weapon of our lizard.
Simple text-based kmm-files written on the KM MacroLanguage can add new functionality, integrate any third-party code like FireFox extensions, java-apps or even Windows applications into K-Meleon.
Take a look on K-Meleon Extensions Central to evaluate the number of functions already added to the bare browser.
Unlike FireFox or Chrome extensions kmm-extras are not
The MacroLanguage would be extremely easy to learn for any man who has some background in any programming language.
Even such a coding dummy like me, rodocop, was able to create some useful things for my own K-Meleon build.
And sure - you can do this too!
